I am writing a multi-part book on Platform Engineering as an operating model for knowledge work.
The book attempts to separate theory from vendor practice. It focuses on first principles: what a platform is, how it structures collaboration, and how it evolves inside large organizations.
Structure
It is structured in three parts:
- Origins: why platforms must be treated as products
- Model: a conceptual framework ("Paths to Outcome")
- Practice: how to build and scale a platform inside an enterprise
Approach
The aim is not to promote a specific implementation, but to clarify the underlying logic that governs all of them.
